Our research poster, “Unmasking Parkinson’s Disease using Smiles: An AI-enabled Screening Framework,” received the “Best Abstract in Clinical Research” award at the Future of Parkinson’s Disease conference.

The conference, jointly organized by the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Parkinson Study Group, was held in Austin, Texas from November 30th to December 3rd, 2023. Their goal was to bring together leading researchers, clinicians, patients, advocates, and other stakeholders to discuss the latest advances and practices in Parkinson’s disease research, thus creating a platform for increased dialogue and collaboration among experts.

The research poster described our research on building a non-invasive tool for early detection of Parkinson’s disease (PD), especially on the scope of utilizing micro-expressions from home-recorded facial emotion videos to detect Parkinson’s disease (PD).
