We are excited to welcome to Dr. Yukang Yan as an assistant professor and a co-director of the group.

Dr. Yan is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. He earned my Ph.D. degree (supervised by Prof. Yuanchun Shi) and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology from Tsinghua University. His research focus lies in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). His research is focused on understanding, predicting and enhancing user behavior in Mixed Reality (MR) interaction, which follows three connected threads: 1) study and model the user’s behavioral and perceptual patterns, 2) develop instinctive input techniques and adaptive user interfaces, 3) explore enhancement mechanisms that optimizes user behaviors and perceptions. I publish at ACM CHI, UIST, IMWUT and IEEE VR.
