Stela Ciko Inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society
Stela Ciko is among the 118 seniors at the University of Rochester to be inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Phi Beta Kappa honor society is the nation’s oldest academic honor society recognizing outstanding achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.
An exceptional student and researcher, Stela has demonstrated remarkable intellectual curiosity and academic excellence throughout her time at Rochester. As a key member of the ROC HCI lab focused on climate change and natural disasters, she played a pivotal role in curating benchmark datasets to advance machine learning applications in this critical domain. Her meticulous analysis of over 30 scholarly articles and development of a web-based platform for dataset accessibility exemplify her technical skill, research insight, and dedication.
Stela’s work has already led to a co-authored publication at the AAAI Fall Symposium Series and a poster presentation at the MIT IEEE Undergraduate Research Technology Conference. Her passion for interdisciplinary problem-solving and commitment to scholarly rigor make her a deserving recipient of this honor.
Following graduation, Stela will be joining Amazon as a Software Development Engineer in San Diego, CA.
