ROC HCI invited to G20 Dialogue on Trustworthy AI
Hoque speaks at the panel on Trustworthy AI in pandemic response organized by the G20 The Digital Economy Task Force (DETF).
The public wants protection from the Government against online services constantly exploiting our vulnerabilities and weaknesses through manipulation.
But how should the Government become a stakeholder?
Last year, the G20 summit in Osaka proposed G20 AI principles as a common framework. These principles point to a more human-focused and ethical approach to guiding AI – but they are by necessity broad in tone and lacking in regulatory specifics.
This year’s G20 Digital Economy Task Force (DETF) held a dialogue on Trustworthy AI in Pandemic Response with experts from both the public and private sectors, and academia to explore the optimal role of Government in Artificial Intelligence. The potential use of technology in diverse sectors was raised, along with how AI can be an efficient tool in pandemic response. The dialogue also examined the G20’s role in policy discussions and the long-term inclusion of AI on the G20 agenda.
G20 Digital Economy Minister will review and continue the work of the Taskforce at their meeting on July 22-23.
